No. In most cases. :) Breed can have an influence on personality... but color is rarely associated with breed in cats (Siamese excluded). 99% of household cats are "mutts"... the only way you'll end up with a specific BREED of cat is to buy from a breeder (or find the rare stray or shelter cat who's actually purebred). In most cases however, a cats color is no different than a person's hair color (although people argue that that also determines personality).

She's a very pretty little blue-cream (or dilute tortie) domestic longhair. Many long hair cats tend to have some "wavy" looking fur in spots. She is not a purebred of any kind but is a normal size domestic longhair. Females tend to be about 8-10 lbs on the average. BTW there is no "medium" haired cats. If the cat is not a shorthair, its considered to be a long hair. I'm not sure where the term of "medium haired" came from but in cat shows you only have 2 classes - either its a long hair or a short hair.

I too seem to always be drawn to orange kitties. I have had several cats throughout my lifetime and working in the veterinary field I have seen several cats and I really don't think their color determines their personality. My orange long hair cat is really a brat, but he is special to me-lol

No fur colour does not determine the personality of any cat. it's genetics, and environnement do.
There are many people that will tell you Calico or Tortoishell cats have a stronger personality then others. you can usually find someone who believes this of any colour. Be it Orange, Grey, White, purple, blue...etc...
The fact is, I've seen hundreds if not thousands of cats, including of course my own, and many friends and family members. There is also no medical research to support such theories.

I have not noticed anything except that Siamese cats and part Siamese cats tend to be high-maintenance. Chatty, active and in your face. Did not like to be left alone. I have met all colors of cats with all kinds of personalities. This Siamese thing is the only thing I can rely on.

This is my very unscientific opinion that seems to be shared by most of the people I work with: Torties are not the nicest cats in the world! I have no idea why, but it always seems like torties are awful to work with. It makes no sense - they're just domestic shorthairs with tortiseshell markings, but many seem to be very crabby!
I agree with you, orange cats are special! :)

Nope. Its kind of like asking if a person's colour determines their personality. (The answer to that, of course, is no). What may be what you are noticing is breed. Different breeds of cats have different temperments and, therefore, behave differently.
