Some cats are very particular. Get a 2nd litterbox and make sure to scrub the scent out of the rug.

I have one cat (out of 3) who only uses one box for pee and the other for poop. The other 2 don't care but this 3rd one is very particular. Cats can be funny that way. I bet your cat will stop if you get 2 boxes. I have my boxes in 2 different parts of the house for the picky one.

It is marking its territory. they really love very clean litter pans and should be scooped DAILY. u will need to neutalize those areas get some white vinegar and let it set and than shampoo the carpets. If it continues take the cat in for a urine check. with an infection they will miss the litter box or use it

There are some organic cures which could be useful. yet I agree, regularly whilst a cat starts off to spray interior the homestead, that's complicated to get them to end. Being an outdoors cat might the respond. merely confirm the cat has a place to get out of the climate if the climate turns undesirable, that it has get right of entry to to scrub water and foodstuff, and which you nonetheless supply it some interest. I somewhat have had some fulfillment by potential of confining the cat interior the bathing room with the clutter field. as quickly as the cat is using the clutter field, I enable the cat out for about a minutes to be with the relatives. The classes of being out with the relatives get longer and longer if the cat keeps to apply its field merely. If the peeing starts off returned interior the homestead, the full "stay interior the bathing room" element starts off returned.

The cat is marking territory. It must like that one special spot on the rug. And I call it urinating. It doesn't need to urinate on the rug, it makes itself urinate to make territory. Not comfortable. It's just a cat thing.

once they have peed in a spot a lot of times they keep going back to it like its their territory (they know it is the same spot because of the smell). if the spot is in a room that you can close off i would just suggest trying to keep it closed and off limits to the cat. if you cant do that it would probably be best to replace the carpet so the smell wont be there anymore and the cat wont pee there.

He smells the ammonia that was left behind when he peed on your rug. Get a cleaner that is made to get rid of the smell (Resolve works the best), and he shouldn't use that spot again.

If the cat is male he will urinate to mark his territory, the only to stop them from doing it is really to get them fixed. If the cat is female she is just going where she has gone before. Cats by nature like to go in the same place everytime.

it's the same with dogs too, not just cats. they go back to the same spot they peed at before. to solve this problem, clean the spot well with amonia and bleach so the cat//dog can't smell and detect it. otherwise, it's just a matter of training

Marking their territory. I assume more than one cat has used that area for that reason.
