Their ears are usually srtaight up when they are happy. when they get really thrilled & content they will slowly close their eyes and maybe slowly open them back up maybe will keep them closed.

cats ears are usually in a upright position not back or to the sides but you can also tell by their tail if their happy or not!!

usually sitting forward or turned slightly to the side. When the ears are pinned to the head you have one pissed off cat
