My cat is female, and is not fixed. She is turning 9.

I think, that since their reproductive system and hormone systems work in a similar way to ours, it's probable. When their hormones change when they are older, their heat cycles start to become fewer and fewer, just like human menstrual cycles do. I don't think they have the symptoms of menopause that humans do, but I think the "process" is similar. It's still not too late to have her spayed though.

Cats thank God, get to a point where they cannot get pregnant anymore. 9 is too old to be having kittens.
Is there a reason you would not get her spayed?????

female cats experience no menopause..they can have litters forever...it is not good for them it will shorten their life..my cat is 21...

If she was not fixed before her first heat, yes. Each heat after that raises the risk of uterine cancer.
