how old is ur cat? usually when cats get older thier eyes are prone to grow a cloudy white color over thier eyes and can go away and come back.unfortunately you cannot do anything about it and if you go to the vet he will give your kitty something for the paine (yes it hurts)(paine...Cause of less activity.. )if kitty is young it is probally infected or something has been injured and kitty neeeds to see the vet. ii do not suggest any home treaments considering the delicacey of the eyes and how much kitty needs them

There's no such thing as an overnight cataract (thickening/couding) of the lense in a cat's eye. If you say it happened overnight and your cat will not open his eye? It sounds like your cat's eye has been scratched or injured. It is possible it has conjunctivitis which can make an eye appear cloudy but generally that comes with other matting and eye goup/drainage symptoms. For your cat's comfort, put a warm compress (wet wash rag with warm water) and press gently over cat's problem eye, and wipe to the side. This may allow you to get a better look at your cats eye so that you can get a better idea of what might be going on. Your cat does need to go to the vet.
Good Luck

RE:
Why is my cat's eye cloudy?
My cat's eye got all cloudy looking today. The black pupil part looks a foggy. Sometimes he wont open it all the way. He is a lot less active. This happened once before and it went away. Does anyone know what this is?
Is there anything I can do besides bringing him to the vet?

It may me be Increased IOP (glaucoma) if your cat is bumping into the objects alll of sudden I mean in a span of 20 to 40 days or It may be PRA (sorry but no treatment available)
signs are
Green cloudy cornea
dilated pupil
over sized eyes (seems to be big) only in case of glaucoma which when very gently touched causes a lot pain in cats eye
Precursory measurements
get tono metry done
get optholoscopy done

You need to take him to the vet-may have cataracts growing and if caught early on BY THE VET who CAN REMOVE then you can save your cat from being blind.
