My cat has round worms i have given her medication twice for this and he is still pooping the i guess they are eggs they actually look like worms in his stool how long should it take for these to clear up the worms are small and looks like maggots very nasty little critters he was a stray cat and i had him fixed and had him treated for fleas and a unriary problem he had he was on antibiotics could that be the reason the dewormer doesn't seem to be working?

The worms do still seem to be alive they move around. The medication i gave him for the worms is over the counter but it contains the generic form of doctrin(sp?) i researched it on line before i bought the medication.

is it over the counter medication (like they have at walmart)? cuz that is for a different kind of worm. my kitties have had worms a couple of times (there are 4 and they just kept bouncing them around thru the litter box/playpen). this seems like a lot of stuff for a kitty to go thru (poor kitty... you are a good person). stress could be a factor, tho i think if you take him to the vet one more time, they have a one pill treatment (it costs maybe $14 dollars, but is totally worth it) that will clear up his icky worms. ask them to give it to him. they will be able to make sure he actually swallows it and does not hide it in his mouth to spit out under your couch later (this could be another culprit)... cats are muy tricky. incidentally, you did not say if the worms in poop are moving or not, if they are not moving (for sure) it could just be him voiding out all the worms in his intestines and stomach which could take a while. hope this isn't too much info.

Do some research on the medication Droncit (Praziquantel)
Ask your veterinarian if this is right for your cat.
