At around 11AM today, my 2-year-old inside/outside male cat threw up in two large areas in our house. He usually does this when we leave him outside for the night. We just figure he ate something out there that he shouldn't have. A nasty bird or mouse.

Well, once he threw up, I put him outside. He found a little bed we have put up for our 3 cats on a shelf, and he has just been laying there for 12 hours.

He's never been this sick before, and I'm kind of worried about him. You know how, when a cat is scared, it's fur will stand up? Well, my cat's fur is fluffy and standing up (just around his head).

What do you think he has? Do you think he just has a 24-hour stomach flu, thing? Any suggestions to what this might be would be greatly appreciated!

I am concerned that your cat may have gotten into something poisonous. Please take him to a vet and get him checked out.

:( How sad!! Well, this is pretty gross, but what did he throw up? He might have gotten into some poison or something. 12 hours is a long time! Do you have a 24 hour pet emergency vet in your area, if so I would take him there just to be on the safe side. If not, definitely take him to the vet tomorrow if he's still so sick!! I'm so sorry, I know that when your kitty gets sick, it's so sad and feels like your child is sick! Good luck, hope your kitty gets better!

call an emergency vet and spot in the event that they could help....or get right into a taxi or ask a chum or neighbor. additionally, if each and every physique there is familiar with a thank you to force, they could force kitty to the vet even and not making use of a license. in emergency circumstances, you're allowed to try this.

he could have gotten nasty bird or mouse, or gotten into some kind of poison. i don't think cats get 24 hour viruses or flus. if he isn't more entergetic i would take him to the vet first thing in the morning. try to get him to drink water, sprite, or pedialite. also bring him in and show him some attention.

He might be throwing up hairballs. When he is outside he might be eating grass which might cause him to throw up. However, take him to the vet - he might have gotten into some poison, nothing to mess around with. 12 hours sleeping is a long time, even for a cat.

I would just take him to the vet in the morning if he is still there, and maybe go get pedialite from the store for him and make him drink some, it is really good for animals you can also give him pepdobismol... sorry for spelling but that is what I give my dogs and cats when they are sick

I think we are not vets here at YC. But I would suggest you never leave your cat outside at night. As for the winter time the weather is unpredictible. And it is inhumane to live him out at that cold, snowy or rainy weather. I would rather recommend you have a little kennel that has a locked up door handy, with a bed and a towel in it. Thats how i have my little kidden in it. Until he gets litter trained good and knows his way to go out and in . Anyhow, I would suggest you go to the Vet. Who knows what he caught...

How cruel to let your pet run without supervision. Now take responsibility for it and take it to the vet to be sure it hasn't been into something harm full and by all means get it shots so it doesn't catch and spread disease's.

i would take him to the vet right away, some are 24hrs
if he has a habit of eating bugs and mice,he may have eaten one that got sprayed with poison, and it is causing him to get very sick.

With this type of lethargic behavior, you need to take him to the vet asap.
