The mom was a stray and I rescued her, she is pregant, she also has a male kitten that doesn't have six does but her femlae kitten does.. I want to know why the femlae does and not the male?

Also I am not very educated on how to take care of a pregant mom... I am currenly feeding her (and her kittens) all natural wet/dry kitten food, since they are very skinny. She was seen by the vet and is most def. pregant, but what else do I need to do for her? Does she need vitamins or anything else?? thanks..

My cat that I just adopted is about 5 years old. Her name is Teegan, but I would rather have a name that's more like me (I'm a music nut, I want to call her something musical). She already knows her name, though. Is it a good idea to rename her?

No, it's not what you might think!

Whatever we end up getting -- male or female -- we will spay or neuter. So are there any advantages of having a cat of either gender?

Are there any health concerns related to specific gender? Behaviorial tendencies?

We are hoping this will be an indoor cat, although we had a cat many years ago and once it got the taste of the outdoors we just couldn't contain it.

We have two boys (kids, not cats), if it helps answer this. The six year-old is more rambunctious; the 12 year-old (for whom the cat will be a present) is quiet.

Advice? Thanks.

We adopted two kittens last October a male and female domestic shorthair. In June we rescued two (male ) kittens from the dump . We kept the new kittens serarated either in different rooms or a pet crate and introduced them slowly, we also fed them separately. Our year old male cat LOVES the kittens, bathing them and playing with them and letting them sleep with, and sometimes on, him. The female HATES them. At first she would just hiss and spit and swat at them and they would run away. But now that they are 4 months old she is starting to stalk and hunt them and she pounces on them and attacks - both clawing and biting. She has clawed their faces several times and our house is a war zone. We can not put up with this much longer. We have tried squirting her with a water bottle and keeping her confined but she is not happy being confined and howls and then as soon as you let her out she hunts down the kittens. Please help. Any suggestions appreciated.

My cat has never been around any dogs EVER! She Licks you all the time, Eats shoes, shirts, pants anything she can find. If you leave the toilet seat up you will find her down in the toilet even if you just gave her fresh water. She loves baths. When she wants out, she will stand at the door and scratch at it she has even chewed the rubber on the bottom of the door so bad I had to tape it on! Oh and another thing she ate was my toilet seat! Yes she ate it! It was all over the floor! I had to get her declawed b/c she dug holes in the carpet! She eats like a dog too she will eat so fast and take such big bites she chokes and gags... She loves to lie on her back and let you rub her belly! If anyone knows of a way to get this cat/dog normal please fill me in, I am running out of patience and shoes . . . lol...This list goes on and on but those are the main examples. Oh and BTW she is over a year old and we have had her since she was 5 weeks old. Thanks.

Hi my cat is 13 years old and was in good health. He is indoor cat. I have noticed he is taking big breaths breathing at 36 breaths per minute. He seems to not be able to sleep on his sides. Occaisonly he breathes out of his mouth for a few seconds. He has been eating plastic his whole life and I noticed a ton of it in his feces today. I am wondering what this sounds like? He is terrified of vet does this sound serious enough to go? :(

My kittens loved to play together until recently. My female stopped playing with him for 3 days. Now she is letting him come near, but she hisses and fights with him. He just looks at her with his inocent face wondering what is this all about.

My male kitten is not neutered yet, would this a sense she is smelling? Why would she suddently start hissing at him?

She has been spayed.

I sure don't want their friendship to turn into hateship. Any suggestions?
