Well I have a stray cat that would work great on a farm and I was wondering how to get her profile on petfinders. Thanks!

It is true that Petfinders is majority for shelters, but there is a section under lost and found where you can list animals as long as you aren't charging a fee. Check out the site towards the bottom you should see something title lost & found. Hope this helps.

Sometimes, rescuers will post a courtesy post.. find one in your area. The one in Columbus WI will sometimes do this, for other rescuers. You may let a local radio station know you have a cat looking for a home, and they will announce that on the radio - free of charge - with your phone number.
Please, remember this, not everyone that says they're looking for a dog or cat are going to give the animal a good home. A great many of these animals land up in testing labs, or puppy mills.
Sometimes, but not often, nursing homes will accept an animal.. especially so if you're willing to help support it (the animal) for a while.
Why not just go to a farm, and ask if the people would like to have the cat.. As silly as that does sound, it may be worth the effort.

Oh! A added note on rescusers.. they will take in an animal for people directly.. after all, they are helping in finding the animals forever homes, filled with love and care.

Petfinders is mostly for shelters. I think you can pay money to post it up online. I post my foster kittens on http://www.craigslist.com. Make sure to pick the closest city to you, then put on an ad. Our kittens and other foster cats go rather quickly this way.

You can't unless you are a shelter or rescue group, but you can post it under the classified section of Petfinder.com. You'll find the classified at the top of the homepage. Follow the links to post the cat and then you can detail her description.
