There are hundreds in shelters you can get for around $100. You are saving a life and get lots of "extras" for one low price.

Was it a short-legged Persian? Those can be very expensive, like 2 grand.

I think $900 is a fair price if all the medical expenses are included, like all shots, and fixed, and stuff like that. I paid $200 for a persian kitty 8 years ago, but no papers or shots.

Don't buy any animal at a pet store. Breeders have been known to dump "defective" kittens and cats there. It also encourages the puppy and kitten mills around the country where animals are kept in inhumane, unhealthy conditions. Mother dogs and cats are bred relentlessly to the great detriment of their health and well-being. Backyard and unlicensed people will also give their unwanted kittens to those stores in order to get some money or just get rid of them.

Occasionally humane societies get cats resembling that breed and certainly all-white cats which you can adopt. That way you contribute to organisations that take care of homeless pets. By taking one you leave a space for another needy animal to find a home.

I think that is too much.
I bought my black pedigree persian for £300 but I have seen some sold for £250.

But Persians are so lovely, they're worth millions!!
