I have a Short hair cat of Burmese descent. I groom him with a soft brush and a bristle brush twice a week. My problem is the soft brush is snagged with a lot of his shed hair and i dont know how to clean it well. I have tried running water with baby shampoo or mild soap, it cleans off some hairs but when the brush dries, there are quite a bit of remainder. Please help... thank you in advanced.

We've had this cat around our house latley.
Its been meewowing mostly so I thought this meant it wanted some food. So I some put tuna out alongside with some milk.

Everytime I open the door for it to come inside and be nice and warm it runs away.

At night it sleep in corner around everywhere but I dont know where in particualr. My family keeps saying that it will surely come back for some more food.

Please can you give me some tips so I can make the cat welcome in our house...without scaring it!

PS wt sort of foods do cats eat. i dont have any cat food and why do they meeyaw ?

I rescued a pregnant. feral cat Thursday night. She is living in our garage with her 5 month old kitten. We've been feeding them since June, and there are pretty friendly. She is very pregnant (I saw her mating, and her 5 month old has been nursing a few times since then). I made them suitable cages for living until we take them to the animal shelter. WE ARE NOT TAKING THEM BEFORE THE BIRTH, AND WE ARE NOT (I REPEAT -NOT-) ABORTING THE KITTENS OR PUTTING ANY OF THE CATS/KITTENS TO SLEEP! Shadow (the 5 month old kitten) is living with her mom until the birth, and the to cages can be opened and seperated in a matter of two minutes. I gave Mama a box, but Shadow only sleeps in it. Is she just not wanting to go in the box until birth? Please let me know anything that you know about feral/housed cat births. We aren't getting them spayed because we are taking them all to them shelter. When will I know to keep her in her cage when she's going to give birth? Is she breathing hard or purring?

to suddenly die?

This kitten was eating on it's own, drinking water normally and using the litter box. Bowel movements AND urinating. The kitten was playful.

This is my friends' kitten, and she got her 10 days ago. She did mention that it sleeps in bed with her and her husband....

I would like to give her an answer as to what may have happened. Can you help?

The kitten had all her 1st shots...

This is to everyone that must let go of their friend, but actually there was a poem written for owners letting their dogs go from Chetco. This seems to me for everyone that has a pet. Everytime she takes him to the Vet to schedule "it" she says on the day or day before that he looked and acted well. I have even said that I would take care of everything. We were getting pictures together and sayings, (her daughter loves this cat, Kim, identity crises when first brought to the home, Kim is a male.) He has some kind of cancer, but my friend won't explain. To me I understand why she is reluctant. And now to make matters a little sadder, my friends father is not doing so good, cancer, when she gets the call she must travel overseas to be with her family. I have no Idea what to do! Of course I will take care of everything if she has to leave, but what words or doings are there if both her father, and loving cat are gone, I fear I will cry because they are and will not be help at all.

I shoo them away each time but I would estimate that 1/5 of their diet is grown-up food not kitten food.
I could switch the older cats back to ktten food they are only 11 months old.

my 5 month old kitten has this toy he absolutely loves and will caryy it around where ever he goes and he'll play with for hours...he also seems to break this toy about a week after i go get a new one, now im in a bind and the store where i used it get it no longer has them on the shelf and a worker told me its a luck of the draw, they buy them assorted and sometimes they get them, sometimes they dont...its very inexpensive (i think less then $2 for a string with bells, glitter balls and feathers)...he seems to get upset when its gone...how can i get him to "favor" a new toy?

My kitten does not groom himself yet. He's only 2mos old. My 3 year old cat tries to help him out, but he just stays dirty and stinky until I bathe him. Will he learn naturally, or should I be doing something to encourage him? Is he just a stinky, dirty boy??
