He has a urinary tract infection -- it can be fatal. Unfortunately the vet costs for treatment are VERY costly -- we call our cat the million dollar cat. He's had two or 3 and the treatment for each has been in excess of $300.

Obviously the only sure thing would be to seek veterinary treatment and try to work out a payment plan. If this is absolutely not an option for you, try to just buy the gel that helps break up crystals -- it's called Methigel. Here's a link: http://www.1800petmeds.com/pdetail.asp?SK=10470 or the vet should sell it to you. We were also given antibiotics (Clavamox http://www.1800petmeds.com/pgroup.asp?LV=222&PG=Clavamox ) to help fight infection.

It sounds like there is complete blockage though and your kitty really needs a decathater. If you get him through this infection you MUST start feeding him low magnesium food to help prevent another infection. The best is Hill's Presciption Science Diet C/D, it's only available through the vet typically. Read the packages at the store though -- I believe Whiskas has canned low magnesium food, and I'm sure there are other brands.

Sounds like a urinary tract blockage. My male had that when he was young.

You have two options:
1) Get him to the vet and see if they will work with your about the bill.
2) The blockage MIGHT eventually pass, but most likely will not. Either his bladder will erupt into his abdominal cavity or he will become poisoned with the toxins in his own urine.

P L E A S E
Take him to the vet NOW! Any vet will not turn you away and will let you pay the bill out over time!

Yes, I agree he has a urinary blockage. He will need a vet ASAP. There is nothing to do but get the cat to a vet. If he cannot pass urine he will eventually die. Humane society's often have low cost vet clinics. Many vets will let you make payment arrangements for financial hardship.

you have no choice your cat will die if you dont. he might have some sort of blockage and that will not clear on its own. Take him to the vet and tell them that this is happening and you dont know what to do you cant afford it. They wil probably help you or maybe you can borrow money from someone like a parent. This is very important to get your kitty to the vet this is very serious and deadly i can 100% guarentee your cat will die if you dont get help.

Play with his schlong. It's probably just stopped up a little. My sister could get Dirty Ernie's schlong to pop right out.

Sometimes if you turn the faucet or shower on, the sound of running water will psychologically trigger your cat to piss. If you give your cat a bath, that can also encourage pissing. Giving a cat a bath is easier said than done. Good luck with that.

Oh yeah, if all that fails, you could give him a CATheter to unclog him if he does have crystals in his urethra. This is much like rotor-rooter for the cat schlong. Not easy without some type of sedative.

Oh, all these other bozos keep telling you to go to the vet when you made it clear from the beginning that you can't do that. If you do nothing, he will probably croak. If you unclog his drain, chances are that it could clog up again, or maybe not. But if you unclog him, he will live for the time being. Otherwise he is toast.

Try to find a veterinary book at the library to assist you.

Sounds like he has a urinary blockage and he is going to need a vet asap. They should be able to set up a payment plan or the local humane society should have services set up that are cheaper. If he is blocked it's the only way to fix it or it will eventually be fatal.

if you don't get your cat to the vet..it could die, this is a very serious problem, he has a blockage in his urinary tract. The bacterial build can enter into his bladder and kill him. Call a vet and let them know the situation and see if they will agree to a payment plan.

You cat will die without immediate treatment- it is a terrible painful way to die.

Often vets know what rescue organisations in the area will help low income clients- get on that phone!

Otherwsie, as terrible as this sounds, if you can not afford to help your cat, please have him put to sleep- I know, it's a horrible thing to say- but it is a painless death.

Death from a bladder blockage is terrible. Cats scream in pain, get sick and toxic , their bladder ruptures and they die.

I wish I could help you more-

You may have to go anyway, if you want him to live. If his bladder is full and he can't urinate it could literally explode and he will die in great pain. The vet will catheterize him, take the urine out and check him for infection. You'll have to start feeding him a special diet of kibble for urinary tract health. I know. It cost me about $800 to save my cat when this happened. Good luck to you and your kitty!

You will have to be able to afford a vet. My cat has done this twice and he had a urinary tract infection. Your cat is plugged (due to ash from cat food) if not treated your cat will die.
