to suddenly die?

This kitten was eating on it's own, drinking water normally and using the litter box. Bowel movements AND urinating. The kitten was playful.

This is my friends' kitten, and she got her 10 days ago. She did mention that it sleeps in bed with her and her husband....

I would like to give her an answer as to what may have happened. Can you help?

The kitten had all her 1st shots...

Hi,
First of all a 7 week old kitten is still not ready to leave it's mother even if it is eating and drinking on it's own. 8 weeks is minimum. 8 weeks is also the minimum age for 1st vaccination, so in this case the kitten was vaccinated too early. As a result, it was not disease protected yet and wouldn't have been fully protected without it's second booster anyways. Also, was it vaccinated by a vet? It is certainly possible to incorrectly vaccinate an animal. It is also possible for the kitten to have an allergic reaction to the shots. It could go into anaphalactic shock and die.
Hope this helps.
P.S. I own a pet store and have many years experience.

So hard to know - could be any number of diseases. If the kit had fleas, could have had anemia. Possibly a reaction to the vaccines. If this happened today, your friend could take the kitten to a vet for a necropsy - the vet may be able to determine the cause.

We need more information.. We're not phychic. There is tons of reasons for it to happen. Reaction to shots, or some kind of flea prevention, worms of any kind, just give us some help, and we'll gladly help you.
