He's so noisy, it's quite unbearable.

If any of you lot want the cat you're quite welcome to him.

Not strictly mine anyway, he just likes me.

Listen everyone. It's a cat, it can't f.ucking talk. It don't matter what it wants to communicate with me, it may as well talk to the wall. I can't understand!

a few things....

number one: cats don't have a "voice box." they have vocal cords that have to be snipped.

number two: only an uncertified basement quack of a veterinarian would ever approve of such an operation.

number three: cats have voices to communicate with us and with each other. much like we do. your cat is probably trying to communicate w/ you and express a need that it has. the solution is not to have your cat surgically altered to suit your needs. the solution is to figure out what the cat needs and find a way to meet that need. how would you like it if you were asking for something or telling someone how much you love them and love being around them and they punched you in the throat just to shut you up? it's completely absurd and uncalled for.

depend on your cat and it's breed, it could be a very normal thing for the cat to be talkative. but if you have, say, a female cat that is unspayed and is coming into heat, then perhaps that is your problem. or maybe your cat has an underlying medical condition that needs to be treated. if your foot was hurting inexplicably, you wouldn't rush out to have it amputated, would you?

perhaps you ought to find a home for your quadriped friend and perhaps try again with a stuffed animal. it sounds like that would be more your speed.

No. The only reason why a charity like the PDSA would help with the cost of any operation is because you are out of work or you are an old aged pensioner!

Additionally your cat cant help being vocal...thats just the way they are. You cant just want to take your cats voicebox out because he is noisy!

Clearly you couldn't care less about your animal, when a cat meows it is trying to communicate with you, would you change your children to mutes because they annoyed you. you sicken me to my very core.
some cats like Siamese or Burmese are more vocal than others, talk to him back.
if he is constantly crying it may be because he is in pain or discomfort, take him to the vet.
If you find that there is no problem I suggest that either you change you appalling attitude and see him as a living, breathing creature with thoughts and feelings that he wishes to express or give him to an animal rescue shelter where he will find someone who will be delighted to have him, love him and talk to him.
If you do not change your ideas I believe you are totally unfit to own a pet, he is not just a noisy ornament for your convenience, get a goldfish, or a snake, or an iguana if you don't like noise, and certainly don't have children, you cant give them to shelters if they encroach on you silence.
Learn to love it or give him to someone who really cares, I don't know you, but you really come across as a terrible person, I just hope it is born of ignorance and not cruelty.

I would have thought you would have got more hate replies than this from cat lovers, I'm sure you've just got a very weird sense of humour...I HOPE anyway!

As to answering your question...

You could always ask them.

I think their response would be to offer to help with having the kitty re-homed and finding you a nice goldfish instead. They don't make any noise. Just the occasional splosh! Unless that's too noisy for you too?

No, they certainly wouldnt.
Its unneccessary for a start plus its a very cruel operation and I think you would have a hard time finding a vet who would perform such a procedure even if you were paying.
Give the cat to a good home if you cant accept it the way it is.

I am appalled at such a thought, i myself have a cat, shes only 3 yrs old and can be a pain at times whether she is meowing or scratching at something, but i wouldnt have her de-clawed or get her voice box taken away, that is absurd!, how would you like it if someone cut off your tongue or something because you kept talking !, Maybe your cat is trying it very best to communicate with you!, try listening to it and seeing if you can help at all, My cat tells me if shes lonely, hungry, wanting out, with all different levels of meowing, just listen to your pet, or get a fish!!!

This is a terrible, cruel thing to even contemplate. No decent vet would do it, let alone help with the cost. If you don't want the cat, take it to a shelter and they'll find someone who does. Get yourself a stuffed animal instead...they're quiet and don't move around, shed etc.

how about this....lets have your owner say that you're too noisy and see if the PDSA will help have your voice box taken out....how dare you....im sure a people thought you were noisy at some point in time but never suggested such a thing.....you're cruel

I don't think that they will help with what your asking as it's inhumain. my mums cats is the same, maybe he's trying to tell you something. try giving him some love, food, play with him to see if he clams down. OR you could take him to the vet and get him a check up to see if there is anything wrong, also a cat behaviourist may be able to help, but they are not cheap.

you cant be serious!!!!! thats what cats do meow, surely you know that, go ahead and call the pdsa, tell them what you want to do then perhaps they will save the cat and take it away from you, do the cat a favour and give it away to someone who loves cats, my cats always sing in the night but i would never think about doing something so cruel!!!!!!!!!!!!
