I have 5 adult cats and I would like to have a dog. I know that many people do this, however what is the best way for me to introduce a dog in the family? Does the dog need to be a puppy?

I have had a cat for a year or a little more. He was abused then abandoned before I got him. He has grown to trust me some....but is still very skittish/nervous around me and will have NOTHING to do with anyone else.

Other than loving him and being very gentle with him is there any other way to help him to calm down and be happier?

Thanks!

i adopted a male orange tabby 4 month old(looks 6 months) about 3 weeks ago.he lives with my best friend whom we have a big cat that lives there with us after 2 days Snuggles and Pumpkin got along and played nicely with each other.I am 24 and live with my parents I asked if I may bring Pumpkin home with me cause I want to take care of him. they might let me. so will he miss playing with my other cat?he'll be living down the basement with me, what should I know about taking care of my first kitten?what do I need to take away so he won't be harmed down the basement?and I am getting him nutered before I take him home in November. so he will have known Snuggles for about 14 weeks before I take him home around Christmas.will he be depressed or more attached to me????

I have researched several different websites for signs to look for when a cat comes into heat. The answers were almost all the same but general in nature. Is there any possibility that a hint of blood can be a sign of my little cat is coming into heat?

Sphynx (hairless cat) successfully used litter box for >5 years and suddenly will rarely use it now (to pee or poop). Tried totally cleaning it, getting a new litter box... He does occasionally use it but mostly goes in the floor. Very frustrating!

i have two troublesome kittens and am wanting to keep them in a large cage while i am out of the house so they are safe and dont get into any more trouble. I cannot find a suitable sized "kitten" cage and have been advised that a dog cage is unsuitable for cats - why cant i put them in a dog cage?

My neighbor called me and said there are 2 cats under his house and he is trying to kill them shooting at them, beating them with 2x4's or anything else he can throw at them, he even admitted when they first came to his house they were very friendly, now since he has been so cruel to them they are wild, well luckily I caught one of them and took it home with me. In one day of talking to this little cat he can became the biggest sweetheart and so lovable. We have decided to keep him, I am still trying to catch the other cat but it is just so scared. The animal rescue places around here wont do anything about it because we live in the country not city. Why dont Arkansas care more about their animals and make people pay for the things they do to animals? If you live in Arkansas and know of anything I can do to help this other cat please tell me. Or if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks

Wouldn't that kit require a needle and stitch for the owner who puts this damn thing on each individual cat claw!? Who thought this up and what are your comments on it?

I am really tired of my cat scratching up the furniture, but I don't like the thought of having him declawed. He is a sweet cat and I don't want to risk "personality changes." If you have ever used them will you please let me know if they work and if they are worth the price? Thanks so much!

I adopted Pumpkin on September 16th he's staying with my best friend and our big cat. first 2 days they cried at each other. now they're good friends, play and lay together. I did seperate "Pumpkin" from his sister because they were both brought in the shelter together. he's a kitten, I'd say 6 months but they shelter said 4. I want to see if my parents will allow me 2 keep him at my house 4 a Christmas present. he's playful and my first kitten. when he gets older will he not care as much 2 play around?I love 2 give him affection and be around him. will I be enough, will he be more attached to me w/out a cat around?

adopted my 4 month old kitten( I think he's really 6 months though) on September 16th. took him to my house down the basement then my friend took me and him back to his place. we have a big cat there, at first they growled at each other, 2 days later best of friends.I might get 2 keep my cat at my house as a Christmas present, will he feel upset or punished that he's not with his friend. what can I do to make my cat the happiest? they LOVE playing and laying wit each other but spend time apart too.will I need 2 get another cat 4 him if he moves 2 my house?
