I think any kind of abortion is wrong, whether it is in a person or an animal, and I very much believe that it should be illegal.

I use to think that aborting kittens was just horrible. However, I voluntered with a cat rescue group and I did change my mind. Spaying/Neutering needs to be done to control the animal population.

I have trapped feral cats (those that can NOT be domesticated and brought into the house) and some of them have been pregnant and the kittens were aborted. I do not regret this decision and the spayed cats are now living out their lives in a feral colony with people feeding them daily.

If you have ever voluntered with an animal rescue group and see the plight of all of the homeless and unwanted animals, you would understand why people are aborting kittens.

You have to ask yourselve, is it better to abort a litter or have them end up at an animal shelter where they are euthanized. Way to many healthy animals are euthanized every day because of pet overpopulation.

I don't think vets will spay an already pregnant cat, if they know ahead of time. My vet wouldn't spay my cat until she was out of heat. Something about increased blood supply or whatever. I had to wait 2 weeks & then come back when her cycle was over. And no she wasn't pregnant.
Hypothetically speaking, the kittens more than likely would end up at a shelter or dumped off by the side of the road somewhere so what's worse? Interesting question though...

This is quite the moral dilemma. I guess the decision should be made individually, however think about the pet population in this world and the number of people that take litters(cats and dogs) to a shelter, how many are euthanized, how many are breeding for the money they could get, how many people abuse/neglect pets who should never own a pet??? I personally would have pets aborted/spayed when pregnant if I had a pet who is not already altered.

Though we are the superior race and so have the power and ability to nuture or spay animals, i do not believe that we have the right to choose whether unborn animals still in the mother's womb die or not. If the animal is already pregnant, it is just the circle of life for that animal and noone, except nature (superior over all) has the right to
decide over the fate of the unborn animal.

I'm totally with lillupad!!! we already have WAY too many unwanted cats/kits in this world for anybody (including you) to let their cats produce more!!!!!!!

if people would just SPAY/NEUTER their pets then abording kits/pups wouldn't ever be considered!!!!! I know it's sad for the unborn pets, but you have to THINK about the already born homeless ones in shelters!!!!

which is more important in your opinion?? hmmm...I say SPAY your animals and you won't have the problem!!!

of course i wouldnt do it and its cruel. it is even worse than abortion as the cat does not have any choice in the matter. its really really wrong.if u dont want kittens give the cat to a good home or a RELYABLE and REPUTABLE shelter that does not put animals down

That's between the cat and her veterinarian and not a subject for approval or disapproval by the general public.
