My cat has been "blocked" several times and the vet is recomending a surgery that will esentially make him more like a female. Do you know anything about the outcome? Is it fair to put the cat through this?

Hi. my mom mentioned the other day she thinks our cats have fleas. then my brother said yesterday that they do. know they do have scabs and stuff around there neck. but i think its from them fighting because they do fight pretty intensly. but maybe its not. how can you really tell if they have fleas or not? they have a thick long coat so its hard to get down the the roots and skin to see.and when you do its about the size of a pretty sharp pencil.(of skin showing) so Fleas or no fleas. and if they are what treatments are out there that are hightly affective to cats?? any help well be appriciated thanks>!@

there are 4 of them (3 girls and 1 boy) and they are about 3 weeks old. the SPCA brought them in as strays who were found in a drain hole or something like that. I really want to take on the task of caring for them as a foster parent. but, my one problem is that this is my first foster and I'm hestitant to bring them home because I'm not real sure how my current cat will react to them. my 2 yr. old spayed female has never been around kittens that young before. how would she react. I'm going to ask the SPCA about what they think before I get them all. but before hand, what do you think? the SPCA wants me to come get them this up coming weekend if I really want to foster them. oh, one last question, since this is my first foster, I'm afraid that I'll get to attached to the kittens and not want to give them back to the SPCA. has anybody had this problem before. I have the time and the money to do this and I know all about taking care of these little ones!! Thanks!

While driving down a lonely highway on June 26th,I seen a little ball of fur sitting about one inch off the highway. No houses in sight.I figure someone dropped her off.She came running to me as I got out of the car.I scooped her up and brought her home with me.I made sure to look for any houses in the area and I also looked for other kittens or even her mama.I do believe in my heart that she was sitting just waiting for me.
She seems very healthy and I have taken her in for all her shots. I do believe that she is a pure bred siamese. The only problem that I am having with her is....she torments my 13 yr old dog and she also attacks my ankles and bites the hec out of my hands and forearms. She sure does gets the crazies any time of day or night. She just goes wild as wild can be.She has enough toys to keep her busy.
Please tell me that she will settle down very soon.

This is a serious question. My husband and I fight non-stop and I want a divorce, but when I bring it up he thows a fit. We have three "kids" and hesays if I leave I can't take them. THe problem is our 3 kids are 2 Siamese cats and a Bengal kitten. will a judge hear a custody battle ovewr them if I do leave or do I have to stay with him just to keep my babies? Mew is just in my name since I had him when we got married, but Gemini and Takarra is in both of our names, even though I had to pay for them.

Every single night my kitten- 5 months- wakes us up by doing laps around the bed- on us. He has to stick his nose on ours, bite your hands if they happen to be out of the covers, attack anything that moves beneathe the covers and just goes crazy. We have 3 others that have never done that. What is his deal? It is driving us nuts. We thought about closing our door but then the other cats couldn't get in or out and Bean- the "culprit" would probably scratch at the door. Honestly, we can't sleep- at all. This lasts for about 45 mintues and then he passes out. For the love of all that is holy- please help!

This is an ongoing debate between my husband and myself.

We rent out house from his father who is not the biggest fan of cats (a trait my husband inherited).

We made a bargain, if he let me have an inside/outside cat. He would be allowed to get himself a motorcycle. (Strange exchange, but he wants a MC just as bad as I want a cat.)

He's afraid of the cat getting on his precious car and stratching it, etc. Also, he doesn't like the idea of fur getting everywhere (such as the couch, etc.) I'm not the greatest housekeeper, but I would really try to keep the fur cleaned up.

Also, there is the issue of litter. I would train the cat to go outside, but I also know there are litter box houses for cats.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Hello... After my 2 oldest daughters go off to school my youngest daughter (age 2) sits at the table with her cup of orange juice with a straw in it. She sits there while I get ready in the bathroom. I can hear her the whole time. For several days in a row she would scream and when I'd come around the corner I would see our cat playing with Alaina's straw on the kitchen floor. This has happened many days in a row. I decided to hide and watch this morning. Well, I witnessed the cat get up on the table and go straight for the straw. She batted at it until she got it out of the cup and took it to the floor. Alaina screamed until I made her laugh about it. It is adorable! But, I want her to stop. I don't want her on the table! Our cat doesn't do this while others are around... Only Alaina. It's like Scruffy is teasing Alaina. Any ideas?

I just adopted a cat last saturday and i have already brought her to my vet with a stool sample. He did not mention if she had worms, but gave me deworming medicine because the shelter did not. Anyway I do not go out of the way to smell her butt, but you can smell it from her just sitting on your lap or next to you. It is very bad. I have tried the Cat Wipes they sell at Petsmart and they do not work at all. She has diaherra and the vet has her on some special diet, but she had a smelly butt before i started this diet. I am going to call the vet today but was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and have any ideas what it could be. Some people have said Worms but I do not see worms in her stool at all. Please help if you can.

I have only 32 days before I move. My cat is 12 (recently adopted due to newlywed marriage of six months and I love him,) and he is and always has been incredibly vibrant and healthy! I am scared to death that all those "preventive" shots will be such a blow to his system t will be devastating. The guidelines are ruthless. I am not at all rich but is hiring a boat from L.A. to Maui is even feasible to get around an impossible and outrageous law (for me at least). Please help and give advice. -- Will they stop me at the airline if I travel with him?

For details on the kitten check my question about the bubby kitty.
He's very small, feeding well from an eyedropper with warm kitten milk. I've had him nearly 24 hours. Does he need some sort of help going potty or will he just do it himself. He really should be with his mum but details on that are in my previous resolved question. He's hea;thy and pretty strong I guess for his size. He's about as big as my hand and walks wobbly but getting faster :) and his eyes and ears are open. Hes also really vocal.

I took in a stray cat, BUDDY, a year ago. She was always running to me, happy, healthy, affectionate, etc. I do have another cat that sometimes liked her but mostly was (understandably) jealous. They never fought. I've nursed Buddy back to health several times. A couple of months ago, she hurt her hip somehow. She gradually became better on her own. For months, she was still eating a lot, coming to me EVERY DAY and NIGHT. All of a sudden, for the past week, her bowls of food have remained full. I have not seen her and I am very heartbroken. Can an oppossum kill a cat? Would her hip injury cause her to become sick? She still had her sight, her hearing and her appetite so I really don't think it was old age. Cars don't drive fast enough around my neighborhood for her to have been hit. Maybe she had 2 homes like some answers I have seen before joining this forum. My landlord told me that Buddy never had a home and has been around for many years. At least for the last year I gave her A LOT
