ILOVEROLO - hi, we've had him about 7 months now, always use the same brand of litter but we changed the place of the litter tray about 2 months ago - so i suppose that could have something to do with it maybe... thanks for your answer

Hi There!
A litter tray should not be cleaned to often, as the cat will not realise that he/she should go in there, as there will be no toilet smell.
I have 4 kittens and 2 cats, I would advise you put something that is very strong smelling in scent, air freshener you can get very strong smelly ones like Cinnamon, mulled wine, apple spice and put this where he/she is poohing. Also don't change your litter tray, so much once a week is fine but then it depends on how many cats you have. I do a filter change every day to just remove all the wees and poohs. Also I would shout at the cat a firm "No", and if your voice is angry the cat will know that this is not right to do this. I give my kittens a firm "No" when they are naughty but that was for climbing on my freshly washed clothes and they don't do it any more. Cats will know when you are cross with them and when you are not. As a last resort:Dip his/her nose in their own excrement and take them to their litter tray. I hope this will help you!

Hi Lulu. The answer really depends on a few factors... Is the cat new to your home?.. have you moved the position of the tray recently?....is the cat getting old?.... sounds like maybe the puss does not like the place the tray is located and wants some privacy.. hence hiding behind fridge. Maybe move tray into a more discreet corner with some privacy. Good luck x P.s. Have the changed the brand of litter lately.. maybe cat does not like the texture/smell of the litter? x

If your cat is suddenly going to the bathroom behind the fridge and other places, it may be the litter you are using. My cat doesn't like A certain brand of litter, he won't go in it. Also once A cat go's in A certain spot, they will always smell it and go there again. So really scrub that area with something with bleach in it to get rid of the cats old odor.
Also try putting the cat box back where the cat is used to it. see if that works. Oh yeah one more thing, some times if A cat has worms it may go to the bathroom in different places. try the cat box in A different area of the house. Cats are funny , they like there privacy when they go. You could try taking your cat to the litter box A few times A day. to show it where it supposed to go. If none of the above works take your cat to the vet. Make sure it doesn't have A problem.
Good luck ! Hope this helped.......

Try putting the litter tray behind the fridge. Alternatively, sell the fridge.

Put your litter tray back there, or maybe your litter tray is not in a private enough place. Some cats like privacy.

It could be as simple as changing your litter, some cats are picky about that! try putting a litter pan where the cat is most likely to use it for a little while, and then slowly move to more desired place.

the finest concern to do first is to get a muddle container. between those the place you (being pregnant) do no longer would desire to deal with the muddle or refuse. placed it contained in the spot the place she is going and spot if she makes use of it. be optimistic to teach her that it truly is there as quickly as you have located it. If she persists in beside the point habit then take her to the vet. each so often a unexpected substitute in a cat's habit could be a clue to an ailment beginning up. one in each of my cats unexpectedly replaced from great clean to very grimy and that i in basic terms chased around after her. For too long. Now she has in easy terms a 0.33 functionality of her kidneys, is on a particular weight loss software and that i'm nonetheless chasing her to make optimistic that she would not get into the different foodstuff. She is now, thankfully, back to her great clean tactics.

Dip his nose in his own excrement and take him to his litter tray. A litter tray should not be cleaned to often as the cat would not know that it is there he should go. Empty the poo out but don't clean the tray more than once every fortnight. Hope this will help!

cut a fresh lemon in 2 and put it in the place where he is doing his poo and put the litter tray a couple of feet away and keep moving it to your chosen place until eventually he will get the message.
