There could be a couple of reasons and maybe all of them. The cat may have a bladder infection, needs to be checked out by a vet. The cat is marking his territory. The cat is trying to get your attention, either is litter box isn't usually clean enough to his satisfaction, some cats won't go until their litter box is cleaned often or he needs more toys to play with or he just wants more personal attention from you.

i've heard that if you put orange peels around where they pee then they'll stop, but i'm not sure. never tried it.
anyways, does he rubb on your stuff a lot? or do you keep your stuff really clean and never dirty? when they rubb on you and things around it puts off his scent and thats a way that he marks his territory. there might just never be his scent on it because you keep it clean or have been around another cat. anyways, if you take a rag and pet him with it a few times and then wipe it on the things that he pees on, and what you think is his next target, and see if that works because there will be no reason to mark his territory if it's already marked!

Cause you pissed him off. Do you dislike the cat? He can probably tell if you do.
When I was married, our cat peed only on my husband's stuff. My husband did not like the cat.
But when the cat got older and senile he peed all over the house.

Cat's mark to put their scent out, or to claim something. If you are gone alot, he could be trying to lead you back to him. Sometimes they do it when you are at home to get your attention. This is particularly true if they stop when you catch them doing it. Most animal psychologists consider this to be a behavioral problem---like acting out.

Probably because he can. Maybe you should consider putting those things in the closet and close the door.

becuase you are his owner he could be marking your stuff to show that you belong to him. my cat rubs himself up against me and licks my face to rub his scent on me becuase i am his owner. you should have him neutered that will eliminate the spraying on your stuff, he will however more than likely still rub on you to mark your territory but it will be better than him peeing on your stuff
