It's not. OTC flea products can be toxic to cats.
You're better off getting some Frontline Plus for your cat. It's a bit pricier, but well worth it when you consider it's safer and more effective.
(And I've heard that BioSpot isn't real safe, either.)
Advantage is only recommended for flea prevention, not for treatment. It only kills adult fleas, therefore, it does not stop the flea life cycle....which MUST be stopped if there is a current infestation. Frontline Plus kills adult fleas, larvae, and eggs, so you're better off going with that if your cat(s) has/have fleas.
And 1800petmeds.com is not the cheapest place to get it. Just Google "Frontline Plus", and you'll get plenty of other sites offering it at lower prices. If you look for it at a pet store, make sure you ask for it. If they carry it, it's kept behind the counter.

I personally would use Frontline, advantage or revolution. Revolution is available only by prescription since it also includes heartworm medication.
I previously used otc flea products on my cats (6+ years ago) and one of them ended up having seizures because of it. I no longer recommend that anyone use otc flea treatments. I realize that the companies have changed their formulas but I will never trust them again.

Bio Spot would not artwork. Frontline is great yet benefit is a tad bit extra decrease priced and works in basic terms besides. i take advantage of benefit on my 9 and that i've got by no potential had fleas! A observe of suggestion, purchase it on Ebay. countless the providers on Ebay are from Australia yet do no longer enable that scare you. it truly is made by potential of Bayer in Australia so it truly is extra decrease priced for Australians which nonetheless makes it extra decrease priced for us to purchase it from them. delivery is lifelike (nonetheless extra decrease priced than paying for out of your vet or a puppy shop) and it will get right here in a pair of week.

Zodiac is not safe and I don't recommend using it. Go take it =back to the store and find some Bio Spot cost about the same and is alot safer. I am a pet groomer and have seen dogs sick and die from their owners using Zodiac and Hartz. Good Luck.

It is probably safe. However, it probably won't be as effective as the kind you would purchase at a veterinary clinic. In my opinion, when I purchase something like that for my animals, I want it to be as effective as possible. If you're looking to save money but still want veterinary recommended products, try 1-800-petmeds.
