My neighbor called me and said there are 2 cats under his house and he is trying to kill them shooting at them, beating them with 2x4's or anything else he can throw at them, he even admitted when they first came to his house they were very friendly, now since he has been so cruel to them they are wild, well luckily I caught one of them and took it home with me. In one day of talking to this little cat he can became the biggest sweetheart and so lovable. We have decided to keep him, I am still trying to catch the other cat but it is just so scared. The animal rescue places around here wont do anything about it because we live in the country not city. Why dont Arkansas care more about their animals and make people pay for the things they do to animals? If you live in Arkansas and know of anything I can do to help this other cat please tell me. Or if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks

If you have a camera, try to record him doing this, Call some animal rights groups.Call your local newspaper, etc. People who abuse animals have a tendency to abuse children. It is against the law to abuse animals. If the police won't do anything, remind them it is election time.

A lot of animal shelters and vet clinics will rent a humane trap. These are often used to catch feral cats to treat them medically. You bait the trap with a bit of tuna, kitty enters and a door closes behind him. I don`t know if that will work with your psycho neighbour around though. Are there any gun bylaws in your area? I live in a rural area where it is illegal to fire a gun within 150 feet of a residence. Bylaws might help you out. Also, I would try contacting the Humane Society of the United States(HSUS). They might have some suggestions and perhaps be more familiar with Arkansas laws. Good luck and thanks for helping the cats.

Good for you for rescuing these poor things! Take a 2x4 to your neighbour and see if he lays off the cat. Failing that, talk to him and ask him to stop for a week while you set a humane trap. Explain to him he'll never have to deal the the cat again after that. Just be sure you get to the trapped cat before he does, and never let them outside again!! And seriously consider the 2x4 over his head.

what about calling the police..animal abuse IS against the law.
tell your neighbor..next time you hear of him doing that to this innocent cat..your going to do it to HIM..since he seems to want to know what it feels like to be beaten and hurt! i HATE people like that!
good luck catching the kitty..maybe try traps with food in them...keep trying the kitty will start to trust you once it knows YOUR not going to hurt it like that asshole.
Good luck..and i commend you for helping out kitties!

u could talk to ur neighbor about it.
just ask him.
unless you r scared of him.
or if ur neighbor is gone, try to save the kitty.

Here is a list of some animal rescues that may be able to help.
http://www.adoptapet.com/CATS/US/AR/NAME/1
Tell them what is going on and if they can't help they will refer you to someone that can.
I would report the person for he is breaking the law and it needs to stop.

Put a can of tuna out near your house, and move it closer to your house each day. Put it in a live trap -- check w/your county extension agency, they may have resources.

Call your humane society and rent a humane trap. That is the safest and best way, then you can take care of him at home.
