my friend claims she got organic eggs in the store and took them home. She says she put them in an incubator and hatched them. Is this really possible or is she just pulling my leg? She said she was able to do this because chicks don't develop while they are cold but if you put them in heat they will start to grow and then hatch. I would like to try it but am afraid I will just get rotten eggs.

If someone, like a friend for example, gave you a bird's egg or newborn bird and you had to take care of it (for like a week or more until you find someone to do it) but you couldn't tell your folks about it, how would you keep the whole thing a secret?

I just wanted to know this if I ever have a scenario like this.

I have this fascination with birds. I noticed that they talk to eachother and sometimes at the same time in groups. They must be able communicate on a level that is more profound then we humans assume. They must do more then simply eat seeds all day and poop on you when you walk under them on the street. My question is, do they all have roles that they play in their bird community?

My budgie recently died and has left my little girl one all by itself! But she is about 4 years and I want her to have some company -but pet shops only sell young ones - is it wise to get a younger one? But my dad says the chain will just go on and on, so when my current one dies, the other will be left alone and we'll just have to keep getting budgies! But my poor Becky is lonely!
