I have 7 month old cockatiel who startles veeeery easily. He doesn't really fly but falls to the ground, and in the process usually breaks his tail feathers which i then have to cut off. He only has like 2 left and they're looking pretty bad. Is this a big problem?

Many people get them from other countries. Also are they hard to look after? I wanted to get my 9 year old niece one for her birthday.

Only problem is: She and her elder brother argue alot so something tells me that the parrot will constantly be saying something like :Sara is a dog! Sara is a dog!

If this happens does the parrot have a long memory because I'm sure their mum would like the parrot to forget this quickly in front of guests

Our balcony seems to be the home of pigeons that fly by. Its starting to get really gross there with poop all over. Does anyone know what we can put out there that scares pigeons so they wont go in our balcony? I know its a silly question, but worth a try.

Thanks!

I woke up this morning and went to feed my parakeets and I noticed there is something wrong with one of them. Symptoms are ruffled/swollen appearance, lethargy, and can't move around too well. He is acting narcoleptic. I have no way to get him to a vet today so I want to find out if there is anything I can do and what is wrong with him. Please help, my daughter will be devestated if she comes home from school & finds out he's dead. Thank you.

My parrot likes to cuddle, I rub his beak area and he starts to make funny noises and sqauts. I noticed he had to bumps by his pooper shoot . I never had him or her tested to find out if he is male or femal. Is their any way to tell the sex of a parrot , without going to a vet?

My parrot has recently started a high pitched scream when ever my husband or my self head for the door. I understand why he does it. Einstein doesn't want us to leave. And for the most part one of us is always home. We give him plenty of attention. He is very loved. How do I teach him not to scream? He is very smart. Will this pass? Or do I need to teach him his screaming is a bad behavior.
