My parrot likes to cuddle, I rub his beak area and he starts to make funny noises and sqauts. I noticed he had to bumps by his pooper shoot . I never had him or her tested to find out if he is male or femal. Is their any way to tell the sex of a parrot , without going to a vet?

I think what you are feeling near his vent are his pelvic bones. Are they on either side of his vent and are they a little bit pointy feeling? If this is the case, that's probably what it is.

You didn't state what kind of parrot it is, but the majority of parrots need to be DNA tested to be absolutely sure of the sex.
If your birds lays an egg, well then, that's a no-brainer, but you don't know for sure with most unless you get them tested.
