I had a parakeet who did this, he is just a normal, healthy, sex-starved bird. I'm sure he has no problem doing it in front of you either!

He just needs to blow off some, err, steam!

its the same as any other animal or person for that matter it feels good to them, if you want little baby birds than get it a mate. when most birds mate it is very easy to tell the female will have feathers pulled out of the top back of her head. i once had a young cockatiel and an older male . the male pecked at and pulled at her head so much that he actually put a hole in her head it took months for it to grow back and not long after that she died

I have the exact same problem with my male Cockatiel. He lifts his right leg on a toy and hunp's his perch.. Yes he's planning on mating right now he's probably reaching sexual maturity. I'd suggest Purchasing a female and see what happens.

No your bird is not. It is simply playing. Birds are like humans. Every one of them is different. My budgie acts weird when I put a cloth over the cage for its bed time.

Be happy that your bird is unique.

tremendously plenty how different animals mate. basically the male fertilizes the female and then the female will produce somebody egg at a time, till she has what's be attentive to as a "take carry of". i'd seek "fowl breeding" and you are able to discover some interesting articles.

You now I`ve noticed the same thing happening with my bird.and I found out that he needs to corpulate.I suggest you to buy a couple for it because if you don`t do that it will continue to "be" with its toy so he will react awkwardly when he sees his peers
