Birds bite for two reasons -- they're either frightened or aggressive, which frequently happens when they reach their sexual maturity. Knowing why your bird bites will help in teaching him better behavior.
I've listed a few websites that you might find helpful.

You dont give us much helpful information, such as what kind of bird, how old, how long have you had it, when exactly does it bite, etc. Most birds will bite out of fear or territoriality. Some suggestions:
- Don't carry on and make a fuss. This the bird finds very exciting, and it may bite again just to have all that fun!
- Never put it on your shoulder or near your face. Even a well-trained bird may find reason to bite and could do severe facial damage.
- Try stick-training it and take it out of the cage on the stick rather than poke your hand in the cage. Once it's away from its own territory it may interact more appropriately with you.
- Someone suggested snapping its beak with your fingernail. This may help to teach and discourage it from biting. Any harsher punishment will only result in an angry, abused bird with good reason to bite! Be patient - that's one of the things pets teach us.

Hello, I'm like one of the other responders (the one who mentioned stick training)....here's how I got my cockatiel to stop biting. Sit near his closed cage and eat something crunchy...birds are social. If he/she acts curious, open the cage door and offer some seeds in your palm (my bird loves millet). if he/she eats the millet, great! if not, if he/she keeps biting or "fussing" slowly remove your hand, close the door, and continue eating...only do this for a few minutes at a time several times throughout the day. He/she will eventually eat from your hand. Remember to always make slow movements and never hit your bird; that just teaches him that you're a threat. patience patience patience and eventually he'll learn you're not a threat.

Depends on it's size, on how this accomplished. I usually take my middle finger and thumb and Thump them on the Beak. Not hard, especially if it a small bird. It startles them and every time they try to bite you do this, in time mine stop or at least learn not to bite so hard. My Horses are taught in the similar manner, I let them bite my finger and as they exert excessive pressure I Twitch their nose, in time they learn how hard they can bite me.
I enjoy the interaction of the biting, because many time it is how they play, you just have to teach how hard they can bite. Good Luck!

Well - maybe your bird doesn't want to be messed with, that's all. It's not like he can say, "Excuse me, but I find your poking your fingers in my cage to be extremely upsetting and I would prefer you didn't," so - he bites.

Are you bothering them? Is there something wrong? Why don't you try taking them to a vet or you can let them get used to you if they are new to you.
