Birds - August 2006

I own a sun conure parrot and I was wondering what a few good things to feed her would be. Things that people would eat. She loves sweets(cinnamon rolls, pop) but those are just treats b/c she will get really aggresive. She likes cereal but I want something that is healthy for her. Any Suggestions, no stupid ones either.

Whenever I park on my side street, which is lined with trees, my car gets bombarded with bird poop!! Funny thing is, it's only MY car. I have the only black car on that street. Wondering if birds are attracted to the dark color?

that my plants is full of small tiny ants! I know this because I've been videotaping them lately and I'm always accidentally touching the plants and theres no such ants about. But today, I went to videotape again and this time around there were FULL of ants and I KNOW its because of the ants. I'm worried. What does it mean? That one of the babies is dying? Plus, they've been really chatty lately like as if they're on erm panic mode lol.. Can some bird expert explain?

My parakeet just laid 2 eggs. i have 2 other male parakeets too and sometimes they are around each other but i read that it can only lay fertile eggs within 2 days of mating...my bird hasnt been near the others for at least a week...could they still be fertile? and also..is it possible for a parakeet to lay eggs without mating? what do i do?

i was in the woods and i saw somtihng moveng on the ground so i wached it and it was a bird he/she can move the other wing but she/he cant fly. Besides the wing it is in perfect condition, high energy and can hop around. I put it in a huge box in my shed with bird seed and water and hay for a nest i made a perch and he seems fine exept for the wing. pleaze help me help the littel bird
