most cage non-hook beak birds can be coaxed by putting a box in the cage with some straw; I did that

Most of the birds kept by us people will breed year round. All they need is a box. Removing the breeder boxes during the winter around halloween during the holiday seasons, should rest all your birds enough for the return of breeder boxes in march.

depends on the bird type.....for instance the end of winter is the start of the breeding cycle for Auger Buzzards.

wild birds mate in the spring. Everyone should be done by now unless they started VERY late. There should still be some fledgling around who have not migrated yet.
