I have some stale sunflower seeds and was thinking of throwing them out in the yard for the birds. The shell is heavily salted though. Do you think that will bother the birds, even though they only eat the inside?

I recently acquired a young cockatiel that was supposedly hand-fed and tame. Despite being very gentle with him, he is very frightened of me and won't let me hold him. Although he has a perch, he also has free run of the house much of the time. Strangely, he has attached himself to my dog, following him constantly, cooing at him, and trying to snuggle with him despite my dog being slightly annoyed with him (he's never tried to harm him). Any bird specialists who have seen this type of behavior before? What can I do to encourage the bird to be friendlier with me?

I have a parrot, she is about 10 or 12 years old and she has very very long claws. How can I get to trim those claws? If they keep on growing like this they might harm my parrot's own leg!
She's kinda agrassive, likes to bite. She has been caged for most of her life, not trained to hands.
Please,help me with this problem!

Ok first off i KNOW i made a mistake, but hindsight is 20/20 right? I live in the desert, and near school in the street i found a small wild bird, its defenitely a fledgeling. When i found it yesterday afternoon it wasnt moving but now it seems better. Everywebsite says, "leave the bird there, it was learning to fly and the parents were around to feed it for a few days until it took off" Ok so i should have put it in a nearby tree or something, but i didnt, so now what?I have been keeping it warm and dry, and feeding it occasionally with a medecine dropper. I have been feeding it sugar water or fruit punch mixed with corn meal (yes i know fruit punch probably isnt what it normally eats.) Its moving around very well now, and I am considering putting it in the backyard as we have several bird feeders w/50 or more wild birds flying around so he/she can learn to fly.1) will the other birds feed it? 2) Is it too late to take it back where i got it?3)any suggestions? No i dont want to keep it

They are female and male. We've had the male for about a month and the female for about six months. I think that the female is pregnant. ( my dad and mom both raised parakeets and they bothe said that they are going to lay eggs ) I was just wondering how I could tell if she is pregnant and if she lays eggs, will they hatch even if they are in a small cage?

When I see these creatures, it reminds me that there has got to be a Creator. Where do you non-believers think something so amazing as a Peacock or any creatures on this earth, including us wonderful but sometimes awful humans...come from ? How can you think it's "Big Bang" theory or whatever ? I'm not real religious but believe in God. I see his creativity and imagination in the little things. What about all the food he's provided...it's amazing to me. Look at bananas, watermelon, lemons, etc...etc...the scents of them all...the tastes. Amazing to me !! What do y'all think ?

Hey, any suggestions of what bird I should buy with my allowance? Tell me what kind, what it looks like, and why I should get it please. (I would prefer kinds that don't squak your ears out!) Thanks.
