get it in the proper position? I'm worried to move it because it's only about a week old and it is so very tiny. Please help.

You can gently put him back into position. all though this bird may be sick and that might be why it was that way. The parents sometimes will push out the weak or sick birds so the healthy ones have the best chance at surviving.It is not true that if your touch the bird that the parents will abandon the babies.

What Robin said. Think about it, your "scent" is on everything in and around your birds' cage. The parents will take care of the baby if it's on it's back. Nature is amazing!

1st -- Leave the chick alone-- It will right itself or the mom and dad will help it
2nd -- If you touch it- the parents will not kill it nor will they abandon it-- That is a serious misconception and is untrue for rabbit babies, kittens, etc.

I know this sounds sad but you really shouldn't touch it. If a bird smells humans on one of its babys it will kill it. Let nature do the rest.
