I just got him from a rescue, and he seems to want to bite me all the time!! I know that rescue birds can be harder to tame, and I'm willing to work with him as long as it take. Does anyone have any suggestions?I think he bites mainly out of fear.

this poor bird was terribly neglected and abused when i addopted it. badly clipped wings, chopped of tail etc.
despite of all that it has a wonderful personality and is really shaping up.

My dad found him in the grass 2 hours from my house. He brought it home to me so we could take care of it, obviously he is lost, his owner either let him go or accidently did.. I got him yesterday and he still hasn't sang or anything, i dont want him to be sad.. Any idea how i can put him in a better playful mood?

I received a cockatiel from a co-worker who could no longer care for him, and he is now nearly 9 years old. He's very sweet, but no matter how much I repeat words to him, he doesn't respond. I honestly don't think he got much attention with his former owner, as he had no toys or anything in his cage, only a food and water dish. He didn't really start saying much of anything till I gave him toys and a swing. Now he cries to get out of his cage, and is content to sit on my shoulder for hours. Is he too old to learn how to talk?

We have a parrot that just does not like me. I don't know why. I've never been cruel to him/her, never had it sexed. The bird is very nice to my husband, but if I walk into the room it will even start biting him. Everytime I've tried to hold the bird it gets a good bite in. While in it's cage, it will start pounding it's toys against the cage real hard, or making a horrible clanking sound with it's beak on the cage, if I'm in the room.

Found baby bird, barely 1/2 oz, no feathers and eyes still shut. No sign of parents and no nests in the area. VERY hungry, I'm feeding him from a syringe with pureed meat and Enfelac, also hardboiled egg yolk mixed with sterile water. Have him on a heating pad (low) in a plastic bug-box with airholes. I know his chances are slim, but any input appreciated! We have named him "Peep" - he is very vocal and responds to my voice.
