I have a hen chicken and she sits on a golf ball thinking its an egg. Is this normal?? Does this mean its time to make chicken soup out of her?????

Well maybe the chicken or hen feels like a mother when she thinks the golf ball thinks its an egg. It personally think it is kind of cute, and i dont think you should make anything out of her. You should treat her like a pet or family, and you don't eat family!

Does she still or has she ever layed eggs? If so, take her golf ball away and have her get laying. If not, then I understand KFC has a few openings for chickens. Or, if the current situation doesn't bug you, then just leave her be and make her a pet.

My daughter had a pet chicken a few years ago. She worked and worked with that chicken to try to train it to do anything. (She would have been delighted it the bird sat on a golf ball. She finally decided that her chicken was f****ing stupid.

Awww please don't eat the chicken.
She is doing what comes natural to her. It's an instinct. Take away the golf ball. The poor chicken is waiting on her baby to be born.

A lot of farmers will use a fake egg in the nest to encouage them to lay. If you want more chickens, get a rooster. She may be waiting for the ball, or as she sees it .....her egg, to hatch. Be nice to her. Sounds like she wants to be a mommy. :o)

i think you need to give the chicken a baseball and who knows maybe some day the chicken will make the major league and set all kinds of record breaking feats best of luck or even beter maybe you can open up a baseball factory !!

Take up a different sport and use the chicken for a pillow. You need lots of rest.

On night when she is sleeping replace the golf ball with a dead hampster... and then say like.. "OOh poor hen your egg was stillborn. " Then eat her.

I think she wants to start a family. Get her a rooster so she can have some real eggs to sit on.
