They will die of the heat if they get to hot. So just prevent that and you'll be fine.

Make sure your chicken coop is shaded and cool. You may even try a through wall air conditioner.

LOTS of frest water is probably most important. And when you get eggs, be sure that you collect at least a couple times a day...

One more thing, I'm assuming you are talking about "regular" chickens and not broilers.

Broilers are their own issue. They grow SO fast they have a nasty habit of keeling over dead with a heart attack in normal weather. They also are sometimes so lazy they won't move. So if you get them be extra careful and shade the whole run...

I live in Las Vegas, NV You'd have to have a barn of some sort to house the chickens since the temps in Nevada are so high. But maybe you should ask some one who breeds chickens or ask a vet for the best advice.

If the chickens are out in the heat too long they can get heat stroke and you'll wind up with a flock of dead birds.

But try to find some on in Reno who owns chickens and see what they have to say.

Fresh water and shelter are needed on a daily basis. They must have a place to get shade and hide from predators. Check to see if there are any local breeders they will give you all the information needed for your area. Good Luck

Give them an area to cool off and they will be fine--DO NOT feed your chickens potatoes-- they do not digest properly-- Check out this site-- it will give you lots of insight as to how to care for your chickens the right way--
