Better then to tell you what they can eat, let me tell you what they can't... It's a MUCH shorter list.
~Garlic
~Garlic Chives
~Parsley
~Avaccodo
Canned veggies are okay, as long as they do not have added salt or sugar.
Core, pit and remove all seeds of fruit and veggies. Apple meats and seedless grapes are fine, but the seeds are toxic.
Berries, like strawberries, blackberries and raspberries, with the seed on the outside, are safe.
I suggest to shy away from lettuce, as it is mostly water and has little nutritional value. Stick to kale or Romain.
A bird WILL NOT CHOKE on "stringy things". They will munch and play with it until it is the appropriate sized piece by themselves.
It has been proven that an all-seed diet does them little good, especially if it has sunflower seeds. A 1/2 and 1/2 core diet of seeds and a kibbled food is the best for picky eaters and birds that have a shakey diet.

Yes it's good. Some things NOT to feed are lettuce (has no nutritional purpose and it's like junk food for birds) and avocados. Of course if you have any doubts always consult a veterinarian that specializes in birds. Some other food that is good for birds (also depends on the type of bird you have - thus consult with a vet) is cooked pasta (cool to the touch not hot at all), a little bit of chicken (mainly for parrots) and of course certain fruits.
