I have birds nesting in my chimney and they are beginning to get very loud! I would like to get rid of them but don't want to hurt them by using chemicals or starting a fire. Any suggestions?

How do you care for a Maccaw?

Is there anything specific I should know about these magnificent creatures? How do I teach it not to scream its lungs out, but communicate normally: teaching it how to talk? Is there anything I should be concerned about: health-wise, mentally-wise, or physical-development of the birdie? Is there anything I can do to make sure that the bird is feeling well? How can I tell if the creature is feeling bad: health- and physically- wise? What else should I know or be concerned with? Is there a Bird-Vet that can take of the birdie and tell me if anything's wrong or if it needs something I didn't realize it needed?

Thank you for your help and assistance :)

Yesterday I tried to save an injured downy woodpecker. I called agencies, etc.. Finally, after no one called me back I tried my best to help only to be criticized by 'rehabilators' later on. I don't drive because I'm epileptic and didn't have any transportation to drop the bird off. No one called me back right away, so I transported the bird on foot away from a group of boys that looked like they were getting ready to poke it with sticks and whatever else to a spot where I thought it would be safe. I know I didn't do the 'proper' thing, but I thought these agencies were suppose to care? Because most of the people I called NEVER returned my call!! And the two people who did, criticized me, I never got a thank you and that will make people not want to help--what do you think?

I have a 3 month old cinnamon-cheeked conure who is an adorable little guy. He is a good bird other then the fact that he has become a little nippy sometimes. What is the best way to teach him not to do this anymore. Sometimes a stern tone telling him no and to be easy works, sometimes not. Any advice from experienced bird owners or breeders would be greatly appreciated.

A bird made a nest in a bookcase located in our gargage as we often leave our garage doors open all day and night. We are leaving on vacation, so my husband relocated the birds next to the closest tree outside the garage - about 25 feet away. In the next we three newly hatched baby birds - maybe 24 hours old - and two unhatched eggs. Will the mother be able to hear her baby birds?? I will feel terrible if they are abandoned but we really cannot leave our home unsecured with nobody around. Any advice??

Our Macaw was ignored in her previous home, and when we got her she was terrified of toys...especially any that made noise. We have had her a couple of years and she is starting to exhibit the destructive behavior that is normal for parrots. We are excited about this, and want to encourage it but toys still scare her. Looking for DIY toys to make so we are not spending fortunes on toys she wont touch. Any ideas?

My husband bought me a cockatiel last year for my birthday from an exotic petshop.Well the lady did not tell me he was sick.He was only about four months old when we bought him and two weeks later he died.I kept calling her before he died and all she said was to keep trying to hand feed him.I tried telling her,he wouldn't eat.We took him to the avian vet,but it was too late for him.He was too sick.I cried over my Pretty boy for months.People kept giving me birds.(ALL parakeets.)I gave some away, but i still have a three left.Anyway,i want to give all those away too,but keep the same cage.Is it safe and sanitary to do so? I paid a lot of money for it and don't want to get rid of it.I want to use it for my new bird.Any info you guys can give me IS Greatly Appreciated. Many Thanks in advance & Be Blessed! Monica
