its head looks like other birds pecked at it?? i took it home and called the wildlife people they said that they couldn't take it, they had too many. she gave me a recipe for the bird, cat food and hard boiled eggs, blended. i did that and tried to use a syringe. my problem is all the bird wants to do is sleep. he doesnt want to open his beak. how do i get him to open its beak? he doesn't seem hungry i guess............sara

Ok, I have no idea what I'm doing...I recently inherited a 1 1/2 yr old Nanday Conure. He's bitting every time I touch him in his cage, and I don't mind, but I'm afraid to get him out because I don't think his wings have ever been trimmed, and added to the fact he's...scared, I don't know what to do. Any suggestions? I really need to do this, because I just love Maxy (he's so cute!). Thanks.

I have a two year old female Indian ringneck and would like to teach her to talk. I repeat words, e.g. hello, but she doesn't seem very vocal.

she had kept these birds in small 1x1 foot cages then a year ago I built a 3x4 foot cage and that damn ***** bitched and didn’t want to use it cause it didn’t have casters on it. She did end up using it sense I just took the seven birds she had in the biggest cage and tossed them in to the cage I made. She was not happy. Now she keeps the mating pair in the second biggest cage mating 24 seven and the pair has killed three of their batched, I am very surprised this one survived. She has seven birds in the gage I built and has the main pair in a tiny cage and she bitched about how crappie my cage is even though it is out side most of the time and it has been a year. Should I just go and let the birds free, knowing they will die but at least they will know what its like to be free. I admit I want to do it to piss her off but I also think that the cage I built is not big enough. The seven parakeets need an 8x8 or 12x12 cage really. What do you all think? i live in the eastrn oregon desert

My dad picked it up so he could show it to me, and then placed it in the neighbor's bushes. But a few hours later, it ran into my backyard. I hope it doesn't need a parent to feed it. Do baby quail scrounge for seed by themselves? Can I just leave it alone?

He always bites my guests when they attempt holding him.
He Hisses (yes, hisses...like a cat!) at the children!
also I feel really bad for him because he had a tramatizing childhood and he is like about 4 years old.
Nobody wants him!
