It is against the law for you to shoot it! It is a federal offense punishable with heafty fines! The barn owl has graced you with it's presence and will keep rats, mice, etc. out of your barn for you! Do not put out rat poison as it will also kill the owl. If you are worried about your chicken, turkeys, ducks, etc. Make sure their pen is secure at night...that is when the owl will be hunting. I would consider it an honor to have the owl in my barn! Native Americans believe that the owl is bringing you a message...assume it is a good message and enjoy the owl!

I suggest find a five gallon can full of gasoline. Pour it all around the barn and then ignite the sucker . I guarentee you that barn owl will go elsewhere or be cooked.
There is nothing better than stir fried owl meat.

Set out some rodent poison, The rodents eat it and the owl eats the rodents. End of owl. Better yet see if there is a local raptor expert or recovery center in your area.

Build another barn owl hut, do not destroy the owl but relocate them to a new home. Barn owl is a natural ecosystem to control pests. please do not destroy them because this will create an unbalance ecology.
