Not JUST birds, but ALL animals have what we perceive as "human" traits. After all, no matter what we are, you just can't get around the fact that we ALL eat, drink, sleep, poop & pee, and seek companionship.....YOU HAVE AN AFRICAN GREY???!!! Oh my god, I am SO jealous!! My parents have had theirs (his name is Rambo) for what seems like (and is) forever! They far outlive dogs, and they "mate" with their owner - and that's for life! (better than I can say of some of my relationships!) They DEFINITELY have personality!! Okay, OKAY! You "caught me"! I answered BEFORE i saw the clip....

I think some are able to do so. Some animals seem to pick up humanlike characteristics if the're kept in close contact with them. I've got a cat that will not hack up a hairball till I come runnin' with a napkin to place in front of her. She's seems to be a pretty considerate little animal.

Yes, I think they can. Birds are fantastic mimics, so if taught well, they can take on any traits you want. Including doorbells and answering machines.

Actually, that doesn't surprise me. Those birds are VERY smart. My dad has one and it can immitate a lot of things. Those birds are awesome but they are very dusty.
