I've got a lot of links to wildlife carers from a lot of countries on my site, at
http://au.geocities.com/leaswebsite/links under "Wildlife Assistance" - just click on them all, click on your country and state, have a browse, 'phone them and ask their advice.
Very very best of luck.

It has happened to us aswell, if it is a baby bird just pick it up and put it back on the branch until it learns how to fly properly. We done that and it was a nuisance because it fell off the branch everyday until one day it flew off! use gloves though that has bird food scent on it or something.

if you touch it or if anything else touches it ( like your dog) then the parents will abandon the baby bird. the best thing would be to tie up your dog for a while , and wait for the parents to pick up the baby bird.

If you touch it you might as well let your dog eat it if you get your scent on the baby bird its parents will abandone it, leaving it to starve to death anyway, so go get so rubber gloves, gardening gloves whatever and carefully put it back in its nest.

Either keep your dog away from it, and the parents will take care of it from the ground. Or, scoop it up and take it to your local bird sanctuary where it will be taken care of as well.

put it back in the nest
but DONT touch it with your bare hands
get gloves or something to pick it up-if you get human scent on it its parents will abandon it
for now keep your dog away from it, keep him inside or put him on a leash

If you leave it there, the parents will come get it. We had one appear on our street by the curb....and within 10 min or so, the bird was picked up by the parents....

Keep your dog away from it. It's probably trying to learn to fly.
