It will depend on where you live but around here they sell for $14.99.
You'll find them for much less and in better condition if you buy them from a breeder in your area. I usually sell zebra finches for $7 each. I suggest going to a bird fair in your area you can search for one here:

COST: Up to around $15.
SHELTER: You also may be able to get one at a shelter for really inexpensive. However, our animal shelters where I live very seldom have birds.
CAGE: If you don't have a cage, that will be the more expensive part. Don't forget food dishes, food, a swing, lots of perches and a lil' cup for a bird bath. I dont know much about finches, but I think there's some grit stuff you can get to put in with their food that is helpful to them as well.

It is better to buy finches from a reputable breeder. Many petco stores have cruel and disturbing things hidden behind the store walls. When an animal gets sick, they simply place it in the freezer to die. They are placed in freezers when they are still alive! Also, they often do not provide proper care for their animals, especially birds. I have been in petco many times and seen birds with FILTHY water, bad food, and dirty cages. Buying from a breeder may be a couple dollars more but if you can't afford to buy a bird that has had proper care then you can't afford a bird at all.

Try the Adoption Shelter, They are much cheaper and you're saving a life in the meantime. Usually 14+ Dollars
