If you are letting them out for the first time yes they probably will fly into a door. They will probably fly into stuff. They first have to learn their area. What ever room you keep them in the most is the room that they need to learn. When I first let my keet out she would fly into everything, but once she learned the area she doesn't crash into anything anymore.Once it recognizes that the big white square is a door it shouldn't crash into it.By the way,if they did fly into the door it could possibly break their neck,so be very careful. Also make sure that your keet is hand trained so it'll be easier to introduce them to the environment. Now if your bird is hand trained and knows the environment and is still crashing into stuff you may want to consider having it's wings clipped for it's own saftey.I don' really like the whole wing clipping thingmbut if it saves youe keets life,go for it.

houseitch is right. And besides just carshing intos things and sustaining damage that way, the average household has an almost infinite number of birdie hazards:

- stovetop
- toilet
- chemicals
- poisonous plants
- other pets
- windows
- small places to get trapped (partly-open drawers, etc.)
- places to hide and get stepped on
- places to get lost
- ways to escape the house (for a budgie, this is easy)
- ...

Wing-clipping sounds awful, but is perfectly safe and is a lot like a haircut on a human. Just make sure you get a vet to show you how. None of the wing membranes or bones are even almost cut, just the bloodless ends of the flight feathers.

Bythe way, having clipped wings does not doom a bird to a cage-bound life. In fact, these birds often enjoy more privileges because they are safer and less likely to leave their perches. My parrots, for example, come sit on the birdie playstand each day and exercise their wings by flapping them without flying.

A safe bird is a happy bird!

Don't let your budgies fly around, they could hit the top part of their beak and it could crack & fall off, & you would have to spoon feed it, & it would die. Keep the wings clipped, and in their cage. Same reason you would run into a white door.

I let mine fly when it wants, supervised. I leave the cage door open when I'm at home and not cooking.

Make sure you have shades or blinds for the windows.

Keep the bathroom door closed.

Just don't let them out if you think that's gonna happen. They mostly fly into windows and doors. So keep them safe from other things as well.
