More than likely. These animals are as smart as a small child. Be patient and consistent. Make it a game and never punish.
Good luck

Absolutely. I have two Grey parrots, and one is absolutely uncanny at reading my hand cues to him. If I extend two fingers, shotgun-style, he knows I want him to step up. If I extend on finger in the same way, he moves in the direction I'm pointing. If I touch my forefinger to my thumb, he says "Bird!", which works very nicely as a funny answer to questions. With the "Bird" cue, I can make it so subtle that other people cannot see what I am doing. And if I make a turning motion with my hand, he'll fetch a small wooden ring off the table and put it on a mini post.

I read about an Amazon who spelled out words in letter blocks by picking up the block that the owner turned her eyes toward.

Have fun with this, and give your birdie a scritch for me!

Since these birds are very intelligent I would say yes you could. It would probably take a lot of repetition but I am sure he will figure it out eventually!

YOU CAN USE GESTURES TO TEACH YOUR PARROT TO DO SOMETHING WITHOUT SPEAKING A WORD. IT IS NOT SIGN LANGUAGE SO MUCH AS HIM READING BODY LANGUAGE. JUST AS I AM ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THINGS HE DOES WITH HIS BODY LANGUAGE TO KNOW WHEN HE WANTS TO COME TO ME WITHOUT HIS YELLING AT ME.
