It is possible but it requires attention and care. I wil give you the best information I can, an expert who does would be your best bet though.

1. Have a brooder when the baby is first born set at 95 degrees farenheit, with 95% humidity.

2. For the first 24 hours of life feed it fluids such as ringerslactate and pedialite (I appologize for mispelling)

3. The baby should be fed every half hour-hour for 19 hours a day for the first week of life. The hand feeding formula should be dilluted at this early stage in developement.

4. You should actually hold the baby in between feedings for about an hour a day if its going to be raised alone in the brooder. If its raised alone and only touched during feedings it can have psycological damage as it matures. Dont over cuddle it though when you hold it. Be gentle and stroke it.

5. As the weeks go by lower the brooder tempeerture and humidit a degree and incriment at a time. Too fast can kill them. Also keep the brooder dimly lit because the babies eyes are sensitive to light for the first few weeks of life

6. Try not to spend more than an hour or two holding the baby a day and dont hold it at the same time everyday.

7. When weaning comes at between 13-20 weeks offer alot of fruits nuts and vegatbles.

Like I said you should ask an expert or someone who does it diectly so you can be 100% sure

Best of Luck JOE

Unless you are breeding them, you won't be able to buy an egg. You should be able to find a fledgling. Raising a cockatoo is NOT like raising a pigeon. They need special food, proper warmth, and they need to be fed every couple of hours. I would suggest talking to a breeder and learning as much as you can from them before contemplating owning or raising a bird as big as a cockatoo.

no- but if you want a cockatoo, you should look at rescuing one from a bird rescue.
