I just got a new cat from the humane society and a week after having him home he's developed some kind of rash that is all over his body. I feel little rough bumps everywhere, almost like scabs and there are a few places where he's scratched himself raw. After 3 different vets and none of them seem to care about what's going on, they keep wanting to pump the little thing w/ steroid shots to ease the itching but it doesn't solve the problem. I asked if it could be food allergies, they immediately scoff at me for thinking that and all they tell me is to wait it out but the poor thing can't even sleep well. What do I do?! He has absolutely NO fleas or eggs, no lice and I've put Revolution on him for the past two months. What could be the problem?

Like, how did you convince your parents (or yourself) to buy one? Did your parents think it was too costy? Including all that boarding, tack, and grooming supples, etc? What do you use your horse for? (jumping, trail riding, etc.) Anything else you want to add?

-->I love Chincoteague Ponies, what can you say about that? ( I own NO horses) *tear tear* :(
If you happen to have a Chinco Pony, did you get it in Virginia? Where theyre mostly at? Or did you get lucky and get it somewhere near you? And how much do they usually cost?

My 2-year-old, SPAYED* cat has put on about 2 pounds/1 kg over the last couple of months from being indoors for the winter. I've just noticed a couple of swellings on her belly right around where her rearmost pair of nipples are. At first I was frightened but I don't think they're likely to be mammary tumours 'cos they're symmetrical on each side, and soft, not lumpy. (Granted I'm obviously not a vet so I'm just guessing from the instructions for "self breast exams" handed out to human women.)

Just wondering if anyone's seen this kind of thing in their cats when they get chubby. Is this a typical place to accumulate fat? A vet student answering someone else's question called it a "fat pad". "Catboobs"?

Oh and in case anyone wants to go health nut on me, I've started taking her for walks to work the chub off.

I live in an apartment building and my neighbor has a young dog...
At the beginning of the summer she just got the dog, it was a beautiful white German shep. I would see it outside all of the time for the first month or so...
In the middle of the summer the dog would wake us up in the middle of the night crying and moving it's kennel (they had the dog beside the wall beside our bedroom). The dog started doing this all throughout the day.
Lately I don't hear the dog whine, but I still hear the kennel moving, this leads me to believe that the dog is constantly in the kennel. These people are NEVER home...
I was walking my own dog a few days ago and I saw her walking hers, the dog was covered in urine (I'm assuming, the dog was yellow and brown). There is a horrible smell coming from their apartment nearly every day. I don't know if I should call animal protection or let it go (today our building smells nice), but I still feel bad that to dog is in the kennel so long... What would you do?

my neighbors have 2 dogs that stay outside all the time..1 is a little german shephard/pitbull puppy, hes about..hmm..not even halfway grown yet and his back bone, ribs and everything are showing..his lower back is probably no more bigger around than a water bottle is..iv called the humane society, but the only thing they did was make them get dog houses..but they didnt get dog houses..just a plastic barrel..iv been thinking about maybe stealing the dog and taking him somewhere, like to my brothers, iv tried asking them if they wanted to give the dog away or maybe sell it for 50 dollars..maybe i should raise the price to 100 or something..i dont know what to do, any opinions?

A Neighbor's Dog Attacked A Friend Of Mine As She Was Walking Her Dog. I Rehab Aggressive Dogs For A Living So I Was Able To Back Them Off As They Attacked Her. I Brought The Dogs Back To The Owner Warning Her That I would Call Animal Control If This Happened Again. I Also Ofered To Help Her Train Them. The Dogs Were Loose Again Less Than Three Days Later.

I Had To Report It. I Am Not Sorry. The Only Thing I Regret Is That The Woman Would Not Listen? How Do I Stop Being Frustrated By That?

I have had my goldfish for 3 weeks or so and have been feeding it the same type of food, HBH Goldfish Bites pelleted food (he is a moor and sinking pellets are all I want to feed him). I feed him 3x every single day the same food, I just now found out that HBH has recalled it's Goldfish bites because it contains melamine. It does not say the date the contaminated food was made. how long should it be before I would have seen him getting ill if the food I have is contaminated? If it could take a while I want to dispose of the food, but if the food is safe (ie, he should have died by now if it really was contaminated) I don't want to throw away good food. How long would it take for symptoms to show up if I feed him 6-7 pellets 3x daily every single day?

she is a very responsible girl and i know that she will be a good dog owner but we just cant decide which breed to get. We are planning on going to see the puppies and making sure that it is not a puppymill for those who are concerned. also our oldest child is 14 and loves animals. If you have any suggestions on other cute low grooming maintainance dogs feel free to tell me!

In each serving of bran my horses get 1 qt bran per 1/4 qt senior. My horses aren't on senior, any of them, and they are on specific diets because of their body types (i.e they're fat and or/ take meds that don't allow for the high nutrient intake) I'm wondering if the concentration of senior in the mix wouldn't be good for them, or non beneficial in any way.

Why Do People Buy Or Adopt Dogs Without Researching The Breed, Having The Dog Evaluated, Knowing Anything About Training, Or Sometimes Even Basic Care?

I Think People Not knowing What They Are Getting Into Adds More Than Anything To The Many Abandoned Dogs In Shelters

My family has had this dog since it was like 2 weeks old. The mommy dog got killed so we fed it ourselves with those little bottles anyhow it is about 2 years old now and it will not let you touch it's paws, it will bite if you try to cut its nails well i noticed that nail curled up and grew into it's paw.
I called the vet and they said they will cut the nail and pull it out but won't that be so painful? Do they numb it?

I've just got my new cockatiel. I was in the petstore holding him and hes very tame and gentle. When I brought him home he was quiet, which is normal. But about half an hour later, after eating some millet, he started pacing back and forth on the bottom of his cage wanting to be let out. I'm pretty sure he wants to be let out more so he can escape than to just play with me but I dont think I should let him out yet either way. But hes jumping around in his cage and i dont want him to get hurt! So what should I do?
Just to note, his wings are clipped and he seems to fall pretty hard against the floor, which is also bad worrying me. he doesnt judge the distance between his perch and the cage door very well/
