I'm trying to find out what kind of snake this is. Can anyone help me identify it based on the markings shown in the following link?

Water snake and a real beauty at that. They can be a bit aggressive and will usually bite and musk if handled. I'd leave it be and enjoy the fact you've got that lovely animal living right in the wild near you.

I'm not an expert, but it might be a variety of corn snake. Go to http://www.moreptiles.com/normal.htm for more information.

He sure is a beauty!

I don't know. But I used to work at a zoo, and the herp guys would get emails like this and they happily answered them. Try calling, emailing, or going in to your local zoo, or any other.
