we give our dogs (An Elkhound of 11 years, and a Husky-Chow-mix of 3) oils from meats on their food all the time, because it benefits there skin and teeth.

But I was wondering, are the oils from fish any good for them? Is so, what do they help with?

I already called the emergency vet, he said bread and mineral oil. Anyone else had this problem and/or have any advice? I am a nervous wreck, how long do I have to wait? Will he pass it through a bowel movement or vomit? He is a German Shepard just over a year......

My dog is in labor now, and we found out about it too late to get an X-ray done. She is a small dog and did not get very big. I am worried about how to tell if she has more puppies inside. What are the physiological symptoms? My husband and I will have her spayed as soon after the whelping as is safe, so please don't scold about spaying and neutering. What's done is done. I would appreciate any friendly help!

I am thinking of getting some betta, but Ive heard that they attack other fish even thought they're another kind of species. Is it better to get a male or female betta. (I know that of you put 2 males together they will fight) Are female bettas territorial too?

I have just recently adopted a Red-Eared Slider Turtle because I had wanted to get into Turtles. I knew nothing about Turtles when I first bought him but by the first 2 days I had everything to keep him happy and acomidated. The only question standing is, will he ever love me? I want my turtle to obviously show effection to me just like my two Cats do. I know from Pet experience that it takes time for a pet to get to know you and start to attach to you. But for the experts who had or have Red-Eared sliders, will the Turtle ever swim up to his basking area when I walk into the room if he hasnt seen me in like a few hours and want me to hold him? Or what type of affection should I expect from a Turtle? I also would like to know how long a good relationship would take for a begginer. I also would like to know what I could do to let him know I love him and stuff? What would show him I dont mean to hurt him and im here to help him and care for him? I know these are probably easy questions..

When we introduced our new kitten to our older dog on Christmas, we were told that is was important to establish that the kitten was "alpha" (because the dog is 80 lbs. and could easily kill her!)...but I think it may have gone too far.

She (kitten) took less than a week to start dominating him (dog)...she stole his dog bed and his food dishes and wouldn't let him use them. I gave the dog an old sleeping bag last week, she urinated on it within a few hours...got an old comforter for him and moved it to a new location...same result. Last night, the dog slept in my son's room on a blanket...I just found it wet. She uses the litter box regularly, but I think she's just finding a new way to dominate the poor dog!...wet on his bed so he can't use it!

Any ideas for stopping this behavior short of kicking the kitty outside or making the dog sleep on a hardwood floor (no carpeting fortunately!)

I have two female cats, I give them about 2 cups of purina cat food and they are always eating it. When I gave them Eukanuba they would eat it , but it lasted longer. Is there something in one food that makes them fuller or do they just simply like one better than the other?

My dog an 8 month old Mastiff mix is nuts. When i take him to the yard to play at night he usually wont stop jumping on me and nipping at me. He is 70 pounds of muscle and it hurts. If i tell him no it does nothing. If i walk away he bites my ankles. If i stand still he keeps jumping on me. Sometimes I grab him and hold him down on his back but when he gets up he keeps at it. Should i smack him with a paper or spray him with a bottle. I know he need s more exercise and hes hyper but I cant have him run if hes acting this way. What should i do at that moment.

I have a 6 month old yellow lab mix pup, great temperament and well behaved indoors. Our back yard is large and fenced and when I take him out he loves to run and play but he won't come when I call him. How do I train him to come when called? He does great on a leash, but I want to be able to let him into our fenced yard and know he'll come in when I want him to. Right now I have to chase the little booger down, and of course he thinks it is a fine game. Ignoring him or leaving him out there is a good last resort but doesn't solve the problem. Help!

i have 2 female fighting fish one blue and the other one red...
the red fighting fish acts normally, its the blue fighting fish that i'm confused about...
when they are both together the blue fighting fish opens it's gill right out and swims around the red fighting fish
is this about love or territory or something else..
i'm confused because they're both females

As some of you may know from previouse questions I recently got a Red-Eared Slider turtle about 1 week ago. My older borther picks him up alot and the turtle still seems to fear people but less than when he first came in. I tried to tell him not to intefear but he says "screw you" and stuff. How would this type of interaction affect the turtle as he grows up, and could you describe that in to contrast of what he mgith react to me like if people didnt constantly pick him up all the time.

my 11yr old F kelpie seems to have a small lump inside her belly. It is just under the skin and moves when i push it about. She doesnt register pain and seems ok, sometimes pants alot but i think thats age related. it isnt visible from sight only touch. could it be cancer of just fatty deposits . she is about 3-4 kg overweight, but otherwise fine.

I live in california and had a dog which passed away of natural causes, age. I have a friend who owns a ferret and they seem very social and loveable animals. However, in California they are illegal so one has to travel to Arizona to get one. Does any now a pet store in Arizona where i can call to get one?

My cats smell horrible when they fart or do their thing in the litter box! It's worse than a guy with a can of beans!
Is it what they eat? And if so, is there cat food out there that can help with their 'issue'?
One of the two cats is allergic to any seafood products though...

Why is it, trainer's and us all are told or even read that puppies dont remember within like 2 seconds what they did/done wrong, so not to reprimand them if isn't caught at that exact moment...right?
So, how come I have gotton as many "treats" out of my coat pocket the same amount of times I have taken my dog out for potty, he knows when I go to my coat and in my pocket that I have a treat for him.....but yet, he doesnt remember that going outside is ok, and going inside is not ok...
Hmmmm....I wonder.
Am I thinking this all the wrong way? Do you all understand what I'm trying to say, lol.
