As some of you may know from previouse questions I recently got a Red-Eared Slider turtle about 1 week ago. My older borther picks him up alot and the turtle still seems to fear people but less than when he first came in. I tried to tell him not to intefear but he says "screw you" and stuff. How would this type of interaction affect the turtle as he grows up, and could you describe that in to contrast of what he mgith react to me like if people didnt constantly pick him up all the time.

Take it easy on the turtle for a while, let him slowly warm up to you and eventenally he may actually end up liking you. My turtles would swim over to the side of the tank when ever I got near them.

turtles dont really like being picked up. I feed my turtles in a small container to help keep the water in their tank clean. They tolerate this, but I can tell they would prefer to stay on the ground. I dont know if this will affect them in the long run. A turtle will never be affectionate to you. I think as long as he does not drop the turtle or hurt it in any way there will be no problem

Turtles are attacked in the wild by birds of prey, and they will ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS stress out when picked up in a way that reminds them of a bird attack.

It causes stress, and stress is almost always a bad thing.
