my 11yr old F kelpie seems to have a small lump inside her belly. It is just under the skin and moves when i push it about. She doesnt register pain and seems ok, sometimes pants alot but i think thats age related. it isnt visible from sight only touch. could it be cancer of just fatty deposits . she is about 3-4 kg overweight, but otherwise fine.

Could be a subaceous cyst, but vets will mostly always take a biopsy when a new tumor shows up, cause cysts and fatty tumors can turn cancerous or ulcerative. Always a great idea to get the vet to do a little look-see. If its by her mammary glands or near her stomach this is concerning to give a idea of a guess. These are not good places to find lumps of any kind.

Usually a fatty tumor will move freely under the skin and older dogs seem to be more prone to harmless fatty tumors. Only a visit to your vet can determine anything for sure.

Fatty tumors are common in older dogs but you really need a Vet to examine her. Even a Vet won't tell you what something is without seeing your dog.

Hmm...let me pull out my crystal ball...nothing.
If it can be moved when you push on it, it's most likely a fatty tumor. The best way to find out is take her to the vet. He/she can palpate it and can give you a more accurate answer. He/she may just want to keep an eye on it to see if it gets bigger or starts to bother your dog. He/she may suggest removing it right away.

She's got to see the vet...and I truly hope you can get her there in time to save her if it is cancerous.

There just isn't any way to tell unless she's examined by a professional.

I think the rule of thumb usually is if it moves it is okay. With her age tho it would be good to have her checked by your vet.

It's probably just fat but you should let your vet check it out to make sure.
