sometimes when she is sleeping, or just laying there. she shivers, trembles,shakes- not really sure what to call it. It's different from when she's purring, this is more noticable and there's no noise...what is going on?

She's dreaming. That's not uncommon. Nothing to worry about.

Well I'm no expert at cats but I have a cat of my own and sometimes parts of her body trembles a bit. But i think it's just like shivering or something. But I assure you it's nothing to worry about. I'm not worried about mine and love my kitty but if your that concerned about any pet you have you should talk to a vet or someone who is an expert on pets. Like other people says she might be dreaming. I hope this will help!

Some cats will have involuntary body movements when they sleep. Kittens sometimes more than adult cats. If she is eating, drinking and her stools are solid and she's gaining weight I wouldn't be too worried, but schedule an appointment at your vet just to be sure and make you feel better.

Does she have a good 'but small bed to cuddle up in)..They like to be snug as a bug in a rug when they sleep or nap...it's a security thing...perhaps you should put a little blanky in it's bed.. They also dream...perhaps she is on a cat hunt and anxious to catch her prey or just playing & having fun..But, if I were you I'd ask my vet to check it out to see if there is another underlying reason for this...

the only thing I can think of is she may be having a nightmare...sometimes my kitten does that. they have a higher temp than we do so they usually do not get cold unless we are also cold so it isn't likely to be that.

I would just wake her up when she is doing that...don't shover her or anything just pet her and lightly shake her and tell her its alright and things like that. It usually helps my kitten and she falls asleep without shaking after I wake her up.

She may be dreaming, or she may be cold, make sure where she sleeps is really cozy. Wrap a blanket around the area or hold her in your arms and see if that helps.

Try a blanket perhaps but I would be more concerned about a neurological issue. To clear up that thought, tell the vet next time you see him/her.

It may be she's just dreaming. You can try putting a light blanket over her. All animals including us twitch when we dream.
