its not moving much last time I actually saw it move alot it was attacked by three platties that really got him kinda... but my girlfriend said that he moved a bit on saturday. He just doesn't want to come out of his shell... Sometimes he pops out of his shell just a crack or alittle more but thats it, I don't get it. Anyone have any educated guesses? (He's not dead, trust me)

you're right, they are very active. I have a ivory mystery snail and she goes all over the place. I have her in with my 8 female bettas who surprisingly don't attack her. I named it pete because it looked liek a pete when bought it, then I read sometihng on how to sex them and found out it's a girl ^_^;

I would take it for a bit, put it in it's own container. big enough for it to move around quite a bit. fill it with water from the aquarium. crush a seashell to a fine powder, pour it into the water and mix it in. a bit of extra calcium is always good. put in a piece of cucumber or zuchini for food and leave him there for a day or two. it may have just been scared by the fish and need a little time to itself. after a day or two put it back in the tank.

Throw the snail outside and get a fish. Fish are still boring pets that require very little care, but they can't hide in their shells for days on end and they definitely move every day.

Step one is to get your water tested. the platies are attacking because in nature if something is weak you attack it. seperating it might help but really you need to determine what is bothering it and not the fish, have you added any chemicals (medication?) lately? Snails will react very different than fish to some tank additives. A partial water change cant hurt

I have a gold snail and he's very active! I would get your water tested. Does he have adequate algae to eat? If not, parboil a small chunk of zucchini (so it sinks) and put it in, or an algae wafer then turn your lights out since platies like those things too!

if you got him from a cup at walmart, starvation could be the issue, they need a LOT of food. Otherwise it could be the water conditions.
